NIH Director’s Awards support exceptionally creative scientists pursuing transformative research
The proposed research lies at the intersection of chemistry and neuroscience, exploring structure, connection and function in the brain. Our lab develops advanced imaging tools and methods to assemble a high-resolution, three-dimensional map of how individual neurons connect. To explore how the physical connections contribute to brain function, the lab will also develop molecular labels and multiplexed imaging methods that can identify the different types of neurons in the map.
